AMI (Canada) is pleased to announce some of the outstanding speakers who will present at the first joint conference hosted by CCMA, CAMT and AMI (Canada). The planning committee, consisting of members of all three organizations, has worked hard to secure presenters that represent the depth and breadth of our diverse group of Montessori organizations. We are very excited to have this opportunity to work together and build unity amongst the groups. We feel that we have jointly created a conference that all will enjoy.

The speakers are as follows:

Teanny Hurtado
Sandra Girlato
Gina Lofquist & Rosemary Quaranta
Andrea Lulka & Regina Lulka
Jamie Rue
Laurie Ewert-Krocker
Tony Evans

In an effort to keep this conference as 'green' as possible, please note the following:

Conference Costs

Both days = $ 325 per person
Friday Only = $ 200 per person
Saturday Only = $ 150 per person
Dinner Event = $ 35 per person

Friday November 1, 2019
Our own Sandra Girlato will present the keynote address "Unity: The Basis of Positive Change" on Friday morning. After the keynote address, we will spend most of the day in breakout sessions for A to I, Casa, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Adolescence and Administration. This will allow each group the opportunity to network with others who work with children in the same plane of development, and share ideas with one another.
Friday will wrap up with both CAMT and CCMA conducting their Annual General Meetings as well as a celebration of the 90th anniversary of AMI. This will be followed by a dinner at Brock University.

Saturday November 2, 2019
All the participants will come together as Teanny Hurtado, Sandra Girlato, Jamie Rue, and Laurie Ewert-Krocker discuss "A Culture of Work - what it looks like through the ages and stages".

After lunch we will have a panel discussion about "The Future of Montessori in Canada" with Tony Evans, Sandra Girlato, Laurie Ewert-Krocker and Catherine Hands of Brock University.

The conference will end with a video greeting from Tessa Lockhead, from the Pirurvik School in Pond Inlet, Nunavut. The Pirurvik School won a million dollar Arctic Inspiration Prize that will be used to help implement Montessori education in their community.

The conference will be held at Brock University which is located in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula. The beautiful natural surrounds of the university are the ideal place to consider the concept of human tendencies and their importance in leading us to a peaceful world.
