La Villa Montessori School is looking to hire an experienced and devoted Elementary Assistant for our growing 6 to 12 program. We are an AMI accredited Montessori school located in our newly constructed space in Oakville (Joshuas Creek). We have a dedicated team that works incredibly well to support each other and the needs of the children in our care.

Elementary Assistant should be dedicated in supporting the work of the guide and assist in the preparation and maintenance of the prepared Montessori environment. You will supervise and work with individual and small groups of students as directed by the Guide. This will include helping the children to gather appropriate materials for follow-up work and projects, as well as guide them in an organized manner.

Elementary Assistants will also need to assist the children on "Going Outs" which include nature walks, getting supplies, food for pets, library, etc. for their classroom or project needs, as well as excursions and supervise children for outdoor/indoor play time.

Job Requirements/Assets:

  • AMI Elementary Orientation Course (or willingness to obtain)
  • Standard First Aid Training (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with the 6 to 12 year age group (especially in a Montessori environment)
